thula (too-lah): zulu for “be still.”

a thula session is a curated floating sonic ritual: guests settle onto floating beds and loungers, put on wireless headphones, and choose a channel built for the hour. no instruction. no schedule to follow. just water, warmth, and a sound world made for drifting. if you've loved a sound bath, thula will feel familiar and then entirely new: the bath becomes a float, the room becomes a pool, and the sound arrives through headphones tuned to you.

she composes sonic flights the way a sommelier builds a tasting. frequency first, then texture, then mood. bowls, low tones, and music are layered so every 45-minute float has an opening, a deep middle, and a soft landing. live bowls at the water's edge are the premium pour.

for five years i traveled to south africa five or six times a year. i built friendships and family there. a rhythm. a sense of purpose that started to feel like a second home.

i was there when the world shut down, and given a choice with no good answer: stay indefinitely, or make it home before the borders closed. i came home. i haven't made it back since.

what i missed wasn't just the place. it was how still i felt there.

thula is what that longing turned into. a name, zulu for “be still,” and a ritual built to hold it. it lives under villa soul and travels to wherever it is needed, because the stillness i was chasing turned out to be something i could build, not just remember.

wireless headphones keep the experience intimate for guests and silent for the property. every guest hears the same world at a volume chosen for them, and the pool deck stays quiet enough for the rooms above it. each session runs two to three channels. guests switch anytime.
